MATERIAL CONTINUITY
This renovation redefines the apartment through a series of precise interventions that enhance its spatial qualities while preserving a clear and balanced layout. The design takes advantage of the apartment's dual aspect, improving the relationship between the living areas and the natural light that permeates the interiors.
The removal of an existing hallway and the reconfiguration of the kitchen and bathroom were made possible by the alignment of the service spaces within the depth of the sleeping area. This targeted intervention optimizes the plan, creating a more generous and fluid sequence of spaces without unnecessary structural changes.
A key feature of the project is the bespoke joinery, designed as an integral part of the architecture rather than as standalone furniture. The long entrance corridor is transformed into a multifunctional storage wall that discreetly incorporates everyday functions while giving order and rhythm to the space.
Throughout the apartment, custom-made cabinetry combines lacquered surfaces in warm taupe tones with fluted Walnut panels. This carefully curated material palette recurs in a series of architectural details — from the backdrop of the entrance bench to the wine cabinet, the bathroom vanity, and the headboard in the master bedroom — creating a subtle thread of continuity that unifies the interiors.
The design balances richness and restraint, introducing variation through texture and craftsmanship while maintaining a calm, elegant and contemporary atmosphere. Wide-plank Oak flooring extends throughout the apartment, with the exception of the bathrooms, reinforcing the continuity of the spaces and adding warmth to the overall composition.
